Creatinine clearance test is used to assess the rate and efficiency of kidney filtration. It is used to help diagnose kidney dysfunction of reduction of blood flow to the kidneys. It may also be used to assess the severity of and to monitor the progress of chronic kidney disease.
Test requires a blood and a 24 hr urine sample. Empty your bladder completely first thing in the morning and collect urine everytime you go to the toilet for the next 24 hours, including the first time the next morning.
