Sample Type: WHOLE BLOOD EDTA
Method: ATOMIC ABSORPTION SPECTROPHOTOMETRY
This test is ordered to screen for excess aluminium levels in the blood. Aluminium is a heavy metal which under normal physiologic conditions gets eliminated through the kidneys. However, people with kidney failure may lose the ability to clear it and may suffer from aluminium toxicity. The test is performed commonly in dialysis patients to screen for aluminium toxicity.
Test is performed on a blood sample. No preparation is needed. Inform your doctor about all the medicines, vitamins, nutritional supplements, herbal or ayurvedic preparations, and homeopathic medicines you are taking
